Anne Mae Hambric

AnnaMae Hambric (Ratkovich) was born August 12th, 1939, in Pueblo Colorado to Steffie and John Ratkovich. She entered paradise on July 21st, 2021, where she was welcomed by her husband Frank, her parents, brother (Sonny), sister (MaryAnn) and many other loved ones. This heavenly crew will be the ones to shine their lights upon those who grieve. AnnaMae is survived by her loving family; her three daughters; Debra (Patrick Milano), Darlene (Stan Welton) and Bridget (Mike Zink), sister Rosemarie (Larry Little), grandchildren Stephanie, Annie, Troy, Patrick, Kimberlee, Gina & Michael. She will keep a close eye on all her great grandchildren, Tristen & Olivia, Ariana & Mateo, Mavis & Vander and Wyatt. AnnaMae is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. And let us not forget Peg (her 3-legged cat).

AnnaMae grew up a farm girl in Penrose Colorado.She worked hard and grew up a happy child. She was well-known and loved amongst her peers. AnnaMae was Apple Day Queen and the most popular cheerleader. Her crowns shined bright from an early age.

AnnaMae met her husband Frank in1953 when they were in high school. It was love at first sight as they were both good looking and had personalities to match. They were married in 1957 and started their family soon after. In 1971 they moved their family to Lakewood where AnnaMae was the business manager of their accounting (CPA) business.

AnnaMae loved beautiful and fancy things. She presented herself with class and confidence. She was the finest combination of spunk and stubbornness. AnnaMae had physical beauty that matched her kindhearted personality. She loved hosting the holidays & Sunday dinners; she was a stellar cook and an avid baker. She was a lover of animals and had many pets throughout the years. She enjoyed cheering for all Denver’s professional sports teams and any teams her grandchildren were playing on.

AnnaMae loved her family. She enjoyed the close relationship she had with her sisters and her extended sisters “the BOB’s.” AnnaMae was proud of her daughters and loved having grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was a showoff of sorts, wanting the world to know how wonderful her family was.

Although the last few years of AnnaMae’s life were plagued by illness and challenges, she found peace with those hardships. When fear entered her heart, she let her family take care of her. It wasn’t always pretty, but that is life. AnnaMae’s life came full circle as she entered her eternal home. She will always be beautiful, that is how we remember her.

She is dancing polka in the heavens, bowling with her mom and playing butt darts with her sister. She is most likely yelling at her husband for eating pie out of the dish and being ornery with her dad. What a wonderful journey AnnaMae had on this earth. She will be missed dearly, and we will forever keep her in our hearts.

Celebration of life will be held on August 4, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Community Church, 8001 West 23rd Avenue, Lakewood, CO. Reception following at Lakewood Bar and Grill 8100 West Colfax Avenue, Lakewood, CO.
