Obituary of Ronald Flye

“Ronald (Ron) Flye was born Dec. 18, 1942 in Pueblo, CO to Helen and Ralph Flye who have both peceded him in death. His father worked in a steel mill there during WWII. After the war, his father turned to construction and part time preaching in small Baptist churches in Okalahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. He wound up in Paonia while Ron was in his early teens. Ever since then, Ron has considered Paonia his hometown. Ron graduated from Paonia High School in 1961. He worked for a while with GE as a warehouseman. After leaving GE, he moved his family to Paonia where he worked various jobs from coal miner, for the City of Delta, Home Depot, in Aspen, and handy man. It is as a maintenance man serving people who owned homes, farms, ranches, and orchards in the Paonia area, that Ron came to know and love so many of its residents. Ron died on March 19th 2011 from complications of a car accident. He is survived by his ex-wife Carol Ann, and his 5 children; daughters Lisa Flye, Rebecca Flye, Laura Berard, and Rhonda Flye, and his son Ralph Flye. In addition there are four grandchildren Omar, Lanee, Linda, and Justin. He is also survived by his three sisters, Bonnie Jean Daniel , Carol Black, and Yvonne Cobb . Ron Flye was indeed a man
