“David L Gundling 92, passed away on May 5, 2010. David is survived by his loving daughters Nikki, Connie, Debbie and six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Marie. David graduated from West Virginia University in 1941 and received his MBA from George Washington University in 1969. He was a U.S. Army Colonel with a distinguished career in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers serving in WWII (806 EAB, 11th Bn, 129th and 307th) and Korea (74th and 194th Engineer Combat Battalions). He was a master parachutist and served as Battalion Commander for the 326th Engineering Battalion (Airborne Division) at Ft Campbell Kentucky from 1959-1960. He worked several years at the Pentagon in the Office of the Chief Engineer and later as Professor of Military Science at University of Missouri at Rolla School of Mines. In 1967, he served as Director, ODDLP as the US Army Engineer School in Washington D.C. In 1970, the President of the United States awarded David the Legion of Merit medal for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services from 1967
