Obituary of Phyllis Hill

“Phyllis Jean Hill, 88, went home to be with our Lord on March 22nd. She died of natural causes at her home in Littleton, CO. She was born in May, 1922, to the late Gladys and Herbert Collingridge in Redondo Beach, CA. She graduated from Long Beach City College in 1942. After retiring as a Court Clerk for the County of San Diego in 1985, she moved to Colorado. Phyllis loved crafts and was always in the middle of a project that she was sure would never get done. She used to joke that God could never take her because she had too many crafts to finish. Her true passion was bridge and she played 3 or 4 times some weeks. Through these activities she made wonderful friendships that always kept her young. She is survived by her three children; Ken Hill (Judy) of Las Vegas, NV; Kathy Martz (Dave) of Highlands Ranch, CO; and Ron Hill (Sharon) of Lantana, TX. Five grandchildren: Kristin Tepsic, Vancouver, WA; Brian Martz, Bellevue, WA; Mindy Baumer, Thornton, CO; Alison Flener, Corinth, TX; Tiffany Galarza, Highland Village, TX; 11 great-grandchildren and others close to her that she regarded as her surrogate daughters, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren, also survive her. She felt so fortunate to have so many friends and to have known so many wonderful people in her life. She never met a stranger and she loved to laugh and joke with everyone. Due to a stroke, Phyllis lost most of her eyesight in July 2010. This meant that her two favorite passions, crafts and bridge, were no longer possible.
