John Keiley

Obituary of John Keiley

“John was born in Canon City but grew up with a house full of siblings in Colorado Springs. He graduated from Widefield High School in 1977. He worked with his father, Jack at his sign shop before beginning his over 30 year career in homebuilding, most of it in the Denver area. While building her parents a new home, he met April and they married in 1988. Two beautiful children followed, Daryn and Hayden, who were incredibly lucky to have him for a father. John spent the last year of his life battling cancer without anger or self-pity. He worked hard, played hard, and was grateful for all he had in this life. He loved sports, a cold beer, and a good joke. He could build, remodel, or fix ANYTHING. He was a great husband, father, and friend. He will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother Nedra Carol Stark (1981) and his father Jack Keiley (2008). He is survived by wife April, daughter Daryn, and son Hayden; brothers Robert (Cecilia), Paul, Randy, and Thomas; sister Vieve (Adam) Long; and numerous nieces and nephews. His ashes will be scattered at his favorite place, Lake Powell.
