Obituary of Jeffrey Klem

Jeffrey R. Klem, 58, of Northglenn, CO, born on September 19, 1952 in Brecksville, OH was met in heaven by his many angels on April 24, 2011 after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jeff is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Sandra, daughters, Sunny Knott (David Grimes) of Seattle, WA and Michelle Knott of London, UK, stepsons, Jeff Maldonado and Jeremy Maldonado (Suzanne Sanchez-Mousel) of Westminster, CO, granddaughter Annika Grimes of Seattle, goddaughter Kaleigh Vallejos of Trinidad, lovey-dovey Lexi Valenzuela of Lakewood, sister Jeanne Lackner, mother June Kruis and aunt Joanne Horan of Cleveland, OH, brother Jim Klem and father Jack Klem of Florida. Preceded in death by his grandmother Irene Gall, aunt Irene Resnick, uncle Rich Horan all of Ohio, and in-laws Al and Gertrude Vallejos of Trinidad, CO. Jeff attended Ohio University and graduated with a BS in Journalism. He was employed most recently at the US Post Office as a mail carrier, but his passion was music which defined 25 years of his career. He worked for Budget Tapes & Records as a national advertising executive where he received numerous NARM, Starwards, and ADDY awards for his advertising achievements. He then worked for Waxworks (Disc Jockey Record stores) as a district and regional manager. His love of baseball and his Colorado Rockies led him to petition on the street corners of Denver for a new baseball stadium and become one of the first season ticket holders. As an avid sports fan, he loved the Broncos, Avalanche and the Nuggets almost as much as his Rockies. Jeff was an avid golfer who played in many tournaments and was known for his bloody mary’s. Jeff was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, stepfather, godfather and friend. As an amazing man, he touched many lives with his love, kindness, generosity and his witty sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by so many. Heartfelt thanks to Triscia Malmstrom for her wonderful and dedicated care of Jeff and also thanks to Jenn Simpson, Sara Spears and Chaplain Robbie James all of Evercare Hospice and Palliative Care. Special thanks to Dr. William Lee and staff at Northern Hematology and Oncology in Thornton who took such good care of him. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Jeff’s name to Evercare Hospice and Palliative Care of Englewood, CO. Posted by All-States Cremation
