Obituary of Shirley Lee

“of Denver, passed on Monday, April 11, 2011. Preceded in death by her husband Osgood A. Lee, Jr. Shirley was the oldest of 5 daughters of Byron and Evelyn Staats, born February 23, 1927 in Denver, Colorado. She is survived by her sisters Margaret Lorens, Charlene Guttrich, Barbara (Bob) Wilson and Annette (Bob) Whiddon and her daughters Lyn Moore and Denise (Mark) Thomas. Granddaughters Amy (Pete) Moore and Sara (Chris) Waterman and great grandchildren Kaelee and Evie Anderson and Peyton and Cole Waterman. Extended family William and Linda Clore and Reed, Jennifer, Tyler and Abby Davis. Shirley was a good homemaker, proud of her house and a great cook. She worked at the Geological Survey setting print on topographical maps. She also worked at Jefferson Bank and Trust serving the public in Customer Service. She loved singing and attended vocal school at Lamont School of Music and enjoyed singing in choir. She loved gardening – roses, flowers and violets and loved growing her own vegetables. She loved camping, hiking and fishing and going to the cabin in Evergreen, Colorado (singing with her sisters on the mountain). She loved her doggies – Crusader (her first), Sammy, Missy, Beaver Lee and the Tawny girl. She loved birds and birdwatching she put a feeder and birdbath outside her kitchen window so that we all could watch them. She loved reading, her family and planning family events, especially Sister
