Obituary of Judy Lynne Meyer

With great sadness, we announce the death of Judy Lynne Topel Meyer at the age of 55 after bravely battling cervical cancer since November of 2009. Born 1/2/55, she perished in the prescence of her family on 7/24/10 at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colorado. Mom was a remarkable woman who blessed us all with her love, friendship, and ever witty sense of humor. She was an avid walker, and reader and loved her dog Jack and taking care of her house plants. Judy worked to improve lives of the elderly all of her life, having been employed mostly in socialwork. The courage and strength she posessed in her life and passed along to others will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents Howard and Mary Topel, 3 daughters, Carrie Gamet, Katie Meyer, and MaryAnne Meyer, son-in-law Bob Gamet, 3 grandchildren Ryan, Jake and Clara Gamet, as well as 4 siblings and spouses; Paul(Barb) and Howie (Helen) Topel, Sharrie (Dick) Bartholomew and Maryanne McBride as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held in Rochester, N.Y. on 8/10/10 at 1:00pm at Salem United Church of Christ at 60 Bittner St. Roch., N.Y. 14604. A gathering is to follow for the family at The Dutch Mill Located at 2901 Dewey Avenue (Near Corner Of Stone Rd). Donations are welcomed in her memory at www.pincc.org, or www.mkacf.org to support education, research, and prevention of cervical cancer and domestic violence both nationally and globally. Donations are also being taken at www.centurahealthathome.org or Porter Hospice at the Johnson Center where a leaf will be engraved for Judy as a part of a tree memorial in the parlor remembering loved ones.
