Also several nephews, nieces and extended family. Richard, graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Denver in 1972, worked for Homestake Mining Company near Gunnison Colorado, served in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a fabricator/welder at Wilkerson Corporation, Adrem Machine and most recently Rocky Mountain Construction Equipment. Richard was a very special and charismatic individual who had a spontaneous sense of humor. He always had a joke or a funny story and loved to make people laugh. A caring and generous man who would go out of his way to help anyone, helping friends, family & neighbors with whatever they needed. He was very creative, he enjoyed working with his hands, welding, woodworking, home projects, yard work & landscaping. He loved gardening, the outdoors, camping and fishing. He also loved reading, or being on the beach and searching for seashells all day or fishing for hours – even when the fish weren’t biting. He courageously fought a long hard battle with cancer, all the while maintaining his naturally positive attitude. Even when he was sick he still went to work, helped people when he could and as always, tried to make everyone around him laugh. He was a loving husband & father and a good friend to all, and will be greatly missed. Gone Fishing Author unknown And if you come upon a mountain stream On a sunny afternoon Splash your hand in the blue, Bright water, smell the pine, Let memories run through your mind, And cherish the silent moments When I am gone I want people to smile and say, That Richard, he’s just gone fishing.
