Obituary of Howard Newell
Howard Newell, a Windsor Gardens resident for 11 years, passed away September 9, 2019, from cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife Pat, his son Glen, daughter Madalyn, grandchildren Audra and Hannah, sisters Mary Ann and Robbie and brother Jim. He is also survived by a stepson, Robert and stepdaughters, Lori, Diane and Lynn, nine step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Howard held the rank of Captain in the US Air Force and served in Taiwan during the Vietnam era. He completed a BA from Whitworth College in Spokane, an MA from the University of Denver, and completed further graduate work toward a Ph.D. there. He called it an ABD (all but dissertation); life interfered. He was selected as a National Honor Society Scholar in high school and was accepted in Mensa in College. He was a teacher in the early part of his career and worked as a technical writer until retirement. He will be greatly missed.
