Robert Russell

Obituary of Robert Russell

Beloved father, grandfather and brother, Robert was survived by four children; Connie Jean (Russell) Waller, Ronald Robert Russell, Sharon Kay (Russell) Hageman and George Alan Russell, his eight grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson and sister Ellen. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Lou (Harris) Russell. Robert was born in Grant, Nebraska to Robert Lowell Russell and Eva Muriel (Lucas) Russell and moved to northeastern Colorado at an early age. Robert served in the Army Air Corp at the end of WWII and then spent the majority of his working years as a teamster truck driver. He retired in 1982 and started his own small engine repair shop in Arvada. Robert eventually retired five years later from his business to become a full time grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing cribbage and other card games with his loved ones. He loved fishing and camping, playing penny slots and computer games and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music. During the end of his long battle with prostate cancer, Robert was placed in home hospice care where he spent his last days in comfort and surrounded by his family. Dad will be greatly missed by his family. The Russell family would like to thank Denver Hospice for their care and support of their father. They provided a wonderful service for Dad and he looked forward to their visits. Posted by All-States Cremation.
