Paul Siemens

Obituary of Paul Siemens

Paul was born in DeRidder, LA to Cornelius and Margaret. He spent his youth (except his first few months) in Meade, KS and then his family moved to Reedley, CA. Paul graduated from Tabor College in Kansas and got his masters in social work from Florida State. After a stint in the Air Force, Paul settled in Denver, CO where he spent the next 32 years as a State Farm Insurance agent. Paul loved his family and friends, making friends wherever he went. He had many interests which included spending time at his cabin in the mountains, riding motorcycles, in-depth discussions with family and friends, woodworking, writing and his Morgan horses (we aren’t sure in which order). We wish to thank all the people who supported Paul during his long struggle with leukemia. The countless hours of service from The Rocky Mountain Cancer Center doctors and nurses and the staff of the Denver Hospice who were always there and to each of you who made a difference in his life – you never went unnoticed. Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children Kammi and Kip; his brother and sister-in law, Verne and Darlene; his adopted children Michele and Brandon; his step-children Tanya and Burke; four grandchildren Chris, Scott, Breanne and Jake; and his niece and nephew Russ and Lynette. He was a good man and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Denver Hospice, 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700, Denver, CO 80246 (303) 321-2828. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Sunday, August 22, from 12-4 at his home. “Life is not fixed or owned. Our bodies are merely rented for a short while. When the time is up, like all things, they must be returned.”
