Obituary of Jessie Vidger

Jessie Mae Vidger (Dusty), 82, of Englewood passed onto eternal life, Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Highline Place in Littleton Colorado. Jessie was born October 17, 1935, in Pringle, South Dakota to Catherine and George Barnes. She was the youngest of 5 children – Dorothy Joan, David, Donna Jean and Paul. When Jessie was 6 the family moved to Chiloquinn, Oregon for two years and moved back to Custer, South Dakota. At 18, after graduating from Custer High School, she moved to Denver, Colorado. Here, she continued her education at Parks Business School. During her college years, Jessie nicknamed herself “Dusty” and was known as this for the duration of her life. On February 29, 1956, Jessie married Elmer Vidger Jr (Jerry). Dusty never met a stranger and in doing so touched so many lives. She really enjoyed life and family was very important to her. Dusty always supported her children and grandchildren in all their school activities and sports. Dusty may have been little but she was mighty. When asked describe Dusty, most would say spunky, feisty, stubborn, nurturing, and loving. Dusty loved nature, reading, puzzles, crocheting, dancing, gambling, playing cards and Chinese checkers. Her favorite music was old country and a few of her favorite shows was The Lawrence Welk show and Hee Haw. Dusty also enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos play. Dusty is survived by her sister Donna Jean, children Mark (Juanita), Susan and James; grandchildren Amber (Lee), Cody, Kelli, Wyatt and Emmett; and great grandchildren Madeline and Evelyn. Funeral Services will be held at Ft Logan Cemetery 4400 W.Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado on June 28, 2018 at 10:15am
