Dear Ones,
My heart is heavy with sorrow.
The only comforting thought is that she is at peace resting with the angles..

So very sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. She fought this disease bravely and with dignity. Even as her strength was fading she did not complain. Her family and friends are left with broken hearts. Her twin sister has lost her soulmate. Pat’s life touched many in such a wonderful way and she will be sorely missed . Sincere condolences to her loved ones. May she rest in peace.

Dear Lisa and Cathy,
I am so sad to hear this news. I can only imagine what a struggle life has been for Pat and you, her family, the past several years and it doesn’t surprise me at all that she faced the struggle with determination and grace. Her smile in the wonderful picture you posted says it all and is what I remember most. It has been many years since I saw Pat with you, Cathy, at a High School reunion but it is her smile I recognized first. We had such great times running on Pat Murphy’s sixth grade track team, hanging out together at the apartment in Wahoo where you and Pat worked at the onion ring factory (and if I remember correctly you only lasted a couple of days) and just being kids in Fremont, Nebraska.
I am devastated that I won’t be able to attend Pat’s Celebration of Life or join you at the Walk to Defeat ALS. I live in Lakewood but my husband and I are on a road trip back east and won’t be home until the end of October. Cathy I would love to see you and Lisa, it would be so great to meet Pat’s daughter. I will be thinking of all of you.

A beautiful woman inside and out! What an incredible will she had to deal with/fight this terrible disease. And, what a wonderful family support system that enabled her to live in her home among loved ones.

Dear Lisa and Jennie: You do not know me, but I knew your mother when she, her sister Cathy, and I were just “youngsters doing our thing “ in Fremont, Nebraska in the early 60s. We were part of a great softball team that set records before girls were supposed to do that. I remember Pat’s tenaciousness, laughter, great smile and hard work as a ball player. She was a team player to the max, and I know she lived her life with that same vigor. My grandmother also passed away with complications caused by ALS, so I am well aware of how difficult it is and was for all of you. Know that she carries her same sense of being with her now to watch over you, without pain. Condolences to you and your family.
