Obituary of Martha Dell Meyer

Martha Bard Meyer, 81, passed away Thursday evening, September 26, 2019. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister, we’ll all miss her.

Martha was born to Marianne Elizabeth Bays and Asher Humphrey Bard on November 22, 1937, in Oklahoma City. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harvey J. Meyer of Lakewood, CO, her son John (Louise) of Hattiesburg, MS, her daughter, Karen Meyer Ferguson (Joe) of Broomfield, CO, her grandson, Matthew Meyer of Hattiesburg, MS.

Also, two brothers, David H. Bard of Oklahoma City and Richard A. Bard (Karen) of Miami, FL; two nieces, Gina Bard Opheim (Landon) of Midland, TX and Marsha Bard Maldonado (Daniel) of Roswell, GA, and one nephew, Ryan T. Bard (Hoang) of Miami, FL; two grand-nieces (Brooke, Hailey) and four grand-nephews (Eric, Dylan, Connor, Andrew); one great grand-niece (Natalie).

We thank God for her life of volunteering (including resettling refugees in Denver, her Methodist Church, nursing homes, Campfire Girls, the YWCA, the Nature Center, and the Colorado Council of International Organizations, among others), her love of plants as a botanist, her love of birds, and her travels to all seven continents. Besides this she had a passion for watercolor painting, working crossword puzzles and spending many hours on family genealogy.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be given to the Rocky Mountain Stroke Center, 5666 S. Bannock St., Littleton, CO 80120.
