Gary Pyle

Obituary of Gary Roger Pyle

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gary Roger Pyle. Known to many as Mr. G or Papa G, Gary touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and unique outlook on life. He was born February 4, 1958 in Denver, CO and passed away at age 61 on October 16, 2019 at his home in Aurora.

Gary is survived by his three daughters - Brittany Summer Marie Pyle, Anika Michelle Pyle and Nevaeh Jae Marie Hicks, his two brothers - Gregory Wayne Pyle and Jeffery Lynn Pyle, and his sister - Katherine Laura Hartmann.

Gary grew up a long-haired hippie in Denver, immersed in music and general bad boy culture. He described himself as a “Retired Gangstar” but many of us know him to be a carpenter and builder. He loved fishing, camping, motorcycles (although he never owned one himself), listening to music and reading.

We are certain the thing he loved most were his daughters - Little Bear, Princess and Baby Person respectively. While many questioned Gary’s non-traditional life choices, as JW Roger’s once said, “the thing that determines a noble life is not its environment but its method; not its colossal achievements, but its hearfelt endeavors.” He was a loving father and a devoted friend, a thoughtful roommate and a coworker who lit up the room. We remember Mr. G as a man who cried at movies, loved to visit puppies at the pet store, and always greeted everyone with a “hey dude,” free of judgment and full of love.

Please join us on Sunday December 8th, 2019 from 1pm to 4pm for a “Celebration of Life Open Mic” where we invite you to share memories and send well wishes to Gary and his family. 2880 South Locust Street Denver, CO 80222.
