I was a Aurora patient of Dr. Earl Carstensen. After talking with him, we were both from North Platte and both had attended Creighton U. Enjoyed our talks about those places and his home town doctors office when I went to see him and Jane years ago. Miss him as my doctor. Peace be with you.

I met many wonderful people at Creighton during our Medical School years but Skip was one of a kind. Friendly, easy to be with, always positive, and very funny and uplifting. He knew how to lighten our minds when stress was abounding, with a joke or humorous commentary. He was sincere, genuine, inclusive and caring. A good man. He's at peace and we are all better for his being in our lives. Ron Boersma

Too many wonderful and great memories of this wonderful guy, classmate and roommate until this cute little gal entered and displaced me. Stories are many and all funny. My sports car one time. Another relates to only boxer shorts, a tuning fork and that unique grin only Skip had. There are many more some of our classmates can give. School buses, milk trucks etc. I’m so much better for having known him. Love you Skip. Looking forward to seeing you again. Please don’t get in trouble up there!

Skip was the best. So funny, kind, introspective, smart, caring, loyal and so many other things. The world is less fun without him!

He and my Father PFD were Fraturnity Brothers and very close friends. They had a sense of humor that sometimes was only understood by the two of them. When my Dad was recovering from his head injury Skip was a big part of that, just listening to him in the phone telling their silly jokes, my Dad was able to speak but would mouth the answer to the riddle or joke. This was one of the first signs that I knew my Dad was still in there. Skip told me a story some time ago, about a time, the first time he ever saw my Dad. This was before they actually met and became friends. Skip had a track meet in Grand Island and there was a big guy running in one of the races, Skip said there was no way this guy wanted to be running in it and was way far behind in the race....figured it was a Catholic School punishment. Years later when they finally met Skip joked about a large guy running in a race from Central Catholic high school and sure enough....that was my Dad! They were destined to become close friends...I always appreciated Skip so much for being there for us after my Dad's accident and when my Father passed Skip always kept the funny stories coming. Now the two can hold their own comedy show in heaven. Skip was like a Brother to my Dad and an Uncle to us, he will be sorely missed!

A few months ago my wife and I visited your mom and dad to look at their solar system. Your parents treated us as if we were long lost friends. Your dad even pulled up his Xcel account to show me their electric bill savings over the years. We had a nice conversation out on their beautiful deck with its magnificent views. It's easy for me to understand how you, Tim, and John turned out to be such good students and wonderful human beings. I am blessed to have known your very special family. Your dad had such a positive and long lasting impact on all who knew him. Sending our love and condolences to you all. His was a life well lived.
