Peggy Conser

Obituary of Peggy Janice Conser

After a long journey with Alzheimer’s, Peggy Conser, age 75, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2019 while surrounded by her family at her Landmark home in Lafayette, Colorado.

Peggy grew up in Wilkes-Barre, PA and married John Conser in 1966. They moved to Western New York to start a family and welcomed their son, Dan in 1968. She moved to Colorado in 1994 and traveled often to explore western North America. She visited many places from California and Nevada to Mexico and Belize. Her favorite trip was an inside passage cruise from Alaska to Vancouver, BC.

Peggy loved people, camping and fishing from an early age and it started with her time in the Girl Scouts. She worked many jobs in her life - worked in a sewing factory, as a fry cook at the Shanty, Wilson House, and Boathouse during the early days of chicken wings and fish frys, and thoroughly enjoyed driving a school bus and working in the school cafeteria. She was an active member in the volunteer fire department auxiliary, a fan of stock car racing at Ransomville Speedway and was in deep peace swimming and fishing in Lake Ontario. When she moved to Colorado, she drove RTD buses, got her CNA license to work in a nursing home, and finally retired from the US Postal Service. She loved talking to everyone and will be forever in our hearts.

Peggy is survived by her loving son, Dan and wife Molly Brown, Boulder, CO; dedicated significant other, James Schultz, Firestone, CO; granddaughters Jesse and Alli; grandson Jack; brothers Dr. Ed Kepp Albemarle, NC and Jack Kepp, Niagara Falls, NY; sisters Linda Lederhouse, Ransomville, NY and JoAnn Kepp, Niagara Falls, NY; and great aunt Kathryn Dyer, Bloomsburg, PA.

She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret, father Jack, husbands John and Gerry, and sister Ruth Ann.

Please join us to celebrate her life Saturday morning November 23, 2019, between 10am - 12pm at Columbine Spiritual Center, 8900 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder, CO, 80303.
