Obituary of Linda Kay Friest

Until we meet again at Heaven’s gate

I would have loved to have stayed here on this earth just on one more day.

For it broke my heart to leave you here alone,

But God whispered softly in my ear and said “my child it’s time,”

Then He took my hand in His and led me home.

We journeyed up above the stars just beyond the moon,

Where very soon we came to Heaven’s gate,

I was welcomed by all who’d gone before with open arms,

But God couldn’t help but notice I kept looking back towards earth,

Wondering if you were okay.

The He laid His hand upon my shoulder and said “remember child,

You’ll just be one memory away.”

So, if today the pain seems overwhelming,

Please look into your heart for there you’ll find,

My love for you will always be there.

From when I left, I left my love behind,

The good times that we shared,

The laughter and tears,

Every second of every single day,

Will all be there,

Held safely in your heart,

Until we meet again at Heaven’s gate,

And until then….

I’ll just be one memory away.
