Obituary of Barbara Krummeck

Barbara (Barb) Krummeck (Valdez) passed away peacefully on December 13^th, 2019 at the age of 77.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jay Martinez, Tracey (Carlo) Hernandez, and Stacey (Samuel) Maldonado III; Also, her siblings, Juanita, Helen, Eddie, Carolyn, and Patsy. To include Barbara’s 12 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ernie Krummeck, Parents Eddie and Flora Valdez Sr., her sister Rosalie, and her beloved dog Maxx.

Barbara was born on June 13^th, 1942 in Trinidad Colorado to Eddie and Flora Valdez Sr. She graduated from West High School in Denver Colorado. She was married to Ernie Krummeck for 27 yrs. She began working for King Soopers and was a Union Stewardess for a combined 27 yrs. Albeit after retirement from King Soopers she continued to work all the way up to this past year in other jobs. 

Barbara was a loving and providing mother who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara loved traveling to Las Vegas and Santa Fe New Mexico. She loved her country music, hallmark channel programs, and Little House on the Prairie. She loved to cook breakfast and drink her coffee in the morning. One of her favorite meals was cooking beef kidney for her to share with her granddaughter Santana who liked them just as much. She loved to buy a loaf of warm French Bread because it reminded her of her mother when she would make fresh baked bread when she was young. Barbara loved to prove everyone wrong in her own funny ways. Special Thank You to her caretakers throughout her life and in her last moments in the Hospital. We, in her family know that she is looking down on us from heaven and giving us a “thumbs up” to let us know everything will be okay…

Her funeral is scheduled for January 6^th, 2020 at St. Dominic’s Church at 2905 Federal Blvd at 3:00 pm, with a reception to follow thereafter at the same location.
