I was saddened to learn of Don's passing. I worked with Don at Caterpillar and enjoyed the collaboration we had. He always had a smile when one was needed and a fresh perspective when times were challenging. I think of him often and remember him with fondness. I pray for Cindy and the family and hope they find comfort in knowing that the memories will keep Don close in their hearts.

Don was my supervisor for 6 years at Caterpillar. He was always a good listener and a good honest man. You could always hear his chuckle and see that smirk on his face. I learned a lot from him and grew as an engineer. He could see the best in a person and pull it out. Cheers to you Don, thank you for everything!

Cindy, I most remember Don's quick & dry wit when we were together in college, and his sincere kindness which will not be forgotten. I pray your family will draw close to God during this challenging time and strongly feel His presence as you share all the great memories of Don with one another. He will be missed!
Blessings,
Tom Buffo

Don was a great man, an amazing husband/father, and a good friend who will be dearly missed. I was in Don's wedding party and he in mine. We spent many a late evening together in high school, college, and early adulthood learning about life and enjoying each other's company. Late night euchre games until 3 with Don, Dave, and Mark; retracing the Barneveld tornado's path through Blue Mounds to Black Earth; camping with the Irish Whiskey ladies; and many, many, many other fun adventures with Don; who was typically our moral compass and guide to ensure that we didn't get in too much trouble!! Rest easy my friend as our grand memories of You live on...

What a great picture of such a sweet man. My heart is broken to have lost
such a special person in our lives. Don always had time for everyone, he made you feel very important. Before my husband Charlie passed away he was in the process of building a tea chest for me. He had purchased a special wood and drew up plans and was excited to start it on his new table saw he had purchased for when he'd retire. That was not to be. I gave the saw to Don, I knew he loved tinkering also and I asked him if he would be willing to complete Charlie's project.
He didn't even hesitate and one day he and Cindy came to visit and there was my tea chest. It meant the world to me and now when I look at it not only do I remember my sweet husband but also the sweet gentle man who carried it out for me.
I will miss you Don.
To Cindy and the family - I'm lifting you up in prayer and you are all Blessed with the strength you need to walk this journey and eventually see the sun again.
All my love, Ronnie

I had the pleasure of working for a number of years under Don as my manager. Don had a very rare quality of getting one to become the best person / employee one could be while remaining sincere and caring. I also have the great pleasure of calling Don my good friend. Someone of whom I am very proud to call my friend. RIP Don! I will enjoy a good beer in your honor! This is so typical of Don to care more about others than himself. My condolences to you Cindy and family. I can not imagine the immense loss that you are all currently enduring. God bless you.
