Obituary of Jeremy John Benner

Jeremy’s Last Earthly Rite of Passage

Jeremy John Benner; loved and adored by so many, transcended from his physical body and into his spiritual body and received his angel wings at the age of 39 on March 9th 2020 @ 8:53 a.m. where he joined his Mother; Shannon Ann Todd and his Father; Gregory Benner.

His last feast and moments of joy and laughter were with his daughter, Alysun Benner (Alley Cat). Alysun had her Dad even blowing kisses! She humbly fed him his favorite foods and anything he requested. Amongst his pain were those moments of joy that helped Jeremy get through his journey and Alysun is his Joy.

He was surrounded and supported during his last days and over the last 10 years by his family: His brave and loved daughter; Alysun, his loving and devoted Sister; Tricia Benner and her loyal and loving partner; Justin, his 2 caring Grandmothers; Viola Benner and Fern Browne, his loving and fun Aunt Denice (Bohunk) and many amazing cousins including; but not limited to, Jeminie Cricket, Danae, Jennifer, Janelle and Dustin. Judy and Vern were also there throughout Jeremy’s journey as Jeremy was the top machinist at their company and they took Jeremy in like family. Jeremy’s Mother Shannon faithfully showed up every day to care for him and keep everyone on their toes until she transcended in December of 2017. The incredibly honorable team at Avamere were also an integral part to Jeremy’s care over the years. We are forever grateful.

The last weeks Jeremy’s family lovingly held space for him to be comfortable and cared for during his transition. His last night the moon was transitioning into a full moon, so we opened the drapes so the moon light could kiss Jeremy’s skin all night. We kissed him good night in the most loving way possible. We could feel his soul was in transit. Jeremy picked a strong vessel. The morning sun kissed Jeremy’s face and he took his last breaths with Tricia and Justin by his side.

Jeremy was brave, kind, loving, competitive, strong, fun, funny, patient, witty, smart, handsome, respectful, joyful, loving, passionate, playful, loyal, persistent, creative, a leader, a gentleman and a loving and dedicated Father, Husband, Son, Grandson, Uncle, Brother, Nephew, Cousin and Friend.

His First 29 years were filled with many adventures and he lived from his heart with passion! He loved to go fishing with family and friends, he enjoyed growing tomatoes, he was a highly skilled machinist, he loved to play horseshoes and was competitive in any of the games he played, but always with a fun-loving attitude. Jeremy was a leader and self-motivated. He was a good friend too. He would sneak his friends through the window during his school years if they were going through a hard time, until his Mom Shannon told them to start coming through the front door and she fed them too. He took care of nieces selflessly. He was a very present and proud Father and loved to engage with Alysun in fun games and take her fishing with him. He was a loving Husband to the Mother of Alysun. He Loves his Sister Tricia Dearly. His Brother Jason and him have a very strong bond.

Memories of the joyous moments we had with Jeremy are the golden chains that bind us until we meet again.

A celebration of Jeremy’s life will be held at a later date.
