Obituary of Susan Kay Boyer

Susan “Sue” Kay Boyer left this world suddenly and peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2020 with family at her side. Born on June 29, 1964, Sue was 54 years old. She is survived by her daughter Nicole Lynn Martinez; her mother Sandra Jane Boyer (McIntyre); her siblings George Lawrence Boyer; Pamela Lynn Jackson (Boyer) and her husband Charles Paul of Farmington, NY; William Loren Boyer and his wife Kristine Anne (McDonald) of Bradford, MA; nieces and nephews Stephanie, Billy, Georgie, Jayden, Charlie, Timmy, Katie, Sammy and Max; and numerous cousins.

She is remembered most fondly as a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a kind and caring woman, and a selfless individual who always put others above herself. She had a very special relationship and friendship with her daughter Nicole, and as a single mom, she often worked two or more jobs to give them a better life. She loved to thrift shop, to spend time with family, and to joke around. We know she is in heaven, making friends, helping others and planning a kickball tournament.

Sue attended Denver West High School and graduated from Alameda High School (’82), Oliver Wendell Holmes Paralegal College and Red Rocks Community College. She worked for a number of prominent law firms in Denver, as well as for Trans-West Freightliner, Inc. Most recently, she worked as a litigation paralegal for the Office of Medicare Appeals with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Due to current social distancing restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a future date. The family requests that donations be made in Sue’s memory to The Arc-Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties; 13949 West Colfax Avenue, Suite 150, Denver West Building 1, Lakewood, CO 80401; 303-232-1338; www.arcjc.org\donatenow\donatenow.html.

Sue was adored by so many family members and friends, and there will be a hole in our collective hearts until we see her again someday.
