I truly enjoyed visiting with Mark and Barb over the years. He was always a straight shooter and not afraid to tell you how he felt or share his opinion, and yes with a great deal of dry humor. He was a renaissance man for sure that wansn't afraid to figure any situation out or take on a job needing done and really prided himself with that. I can honestly say he was a modern day cowboy. Barb, I'm so sorry for your loss. You were so lucky to have each other. With love, Carson

My condolences to Mark's family and to all touched by this loss. I hadn't seen Mark in many years, but with the sadness of this news came many good memories of Mark, and others, during our time together at WSC. Blessings and good wishes to all. Rest in peace, my friend.

Mark was a great guy, loyal, dependable, true friend. We had so many great memories. So many. Starting at WSC and continuing all the way up to last Sept when he and I spent time horseback riding, ATVing the continental divide, searching down old memories in Gunnison, Taylor Canyon, and Crested Butte and relaxing along with Marks wonderful wife, Barb at their mountain paradise in Conifer. What a time we had then and over the years. I will miss Mark greatly. It's not often that true friendship endures so many decades. When it does, it will live on. Rest in peace Marko!

I've known Mark for 40 years. We had many great raft trips and a lot of laughs in general. He came out to CT to be in our wedding, and was at the hospital when our son was born. I'm glad he found Barb to spend his life with. He was so happy. I will miss his sense of humor and our crazy chats. He was one in a million. A great friend. A great man.

My granddaughter and I got to visit with Barb and Mark last summer. We had a fabulous time with both of them and when we leaving, Mark had to drive us to the airport since Barb had to work. He was very polite but quiet. Not like Mark. Turns out, he drank some bad water and ended up in the hospital. The whole ride to the airport he never let on that he was in pain. That, to me, was Mark. Being a gracious host despite his personal discomfort. So glad we got to spend the week with them.

A lot of you don't know how Mark and I met. He came into my business, had just ripped out his kitchen and didn't know where to go from there! This was a Tuesday in February 2001. I showed him cabinets, countertops and appliances. He had brought measurements so I was able to draw it up that day and met with him the next day to confirm choices, layout, etc. He came in the next day Thursday to purchase but forgot his checkbook. He did however remember to bring me a bottle of his favorite wine :) He had to come back on Friday to purchase, then we made plans I would come over later Sunday afternoon to measure before ordering. Well here was a man who did not have a kitchen, he had a refrigerator in a corner and that was it. He insisted on making dinner and did he ever! He made prime rib in his Showtime Rotisserie, potatoes on the grill, vegetables in his George Foreman. He was resourceful and I was impressed. We drank wine and played darts and somewhere during that evening we knew it was love. We started dating that night and never stopped. Even though it was almost 20 years it went so fast.
