Richard Huntington

Obituary of Richard E Huntington

Richard was a student at George School in Newtown, Pa. for the first 2 years of high school , and then after moving in with his father finished school at Westwood High School, Westwood Mass.

He then attended Nasson College in Maine. Not being at all sure what he wanted to do he left college and moved to Princeton, N J, and staying at his grandmother's house he got a job at a chemistry lab there.

While Richard was at George School he started woodworking, and woodworking became a passion for the rest of his life. He built furniture, designing and building, and then veered more to sculpture. He branched out from wood to other materials. From stone to plaster to steel, welding the parts together. But he always returned to wood. As he aged and no longer had access to a workshop and tools he experimented with wire and the results were stunning.

Later in his mature years he became interested in Buddhism and built a Buddhist Prayer Altar, beautifully carved and put together.

He was a deep thinker, a wise-cracker, and extraordinarily humble. He is much loved and will be missed by all who knew him
