Obituary of Susan Knights Willmon

Susan Knights Willmon lost her valiant battle with metastatic breast cancer on August 30, 2020.  She grew up in Northbrook, Illinois, but spent her adult life in Colorado. Susan was a proud graduate of Colorado State University and the University of Illinois.  She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma, Epsilon Beta Chapter and an integral part of the Boulder Alumnae Association for many years as president and finally as treasurer.  Susan worked for several years in the ag industry as a beef data specialist, most recently for ABS Global.

Susan was always busy working on projects, off to see sporting events, supporting her alma mater and her Kappa sisters, hanging out in the mountains, seeing shows and concerts or spending time with family and friends.  If there was something to see or do you could count on Susan to be there.

Susan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kate Knights and Eli Plewka; mother, Helen Knights; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lisa Knights; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jeremy Week; former spouse, Clay Willmon; plus nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends.  All of these, her extended family and friends will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family is respectfully requesting memorial tributes be directed to the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture for the establishment of a scholarship fund in Susan’s honor. Please indicate the memorial is for the Susan Knights Willmon Scholarship and make payable to:
