Obituary of Lisa Marie Sweeney

Lisa Marie Sweeney, former communications manager, died on Sunday, September 6th, 2020 after an extended illness in Denver Colorado. She was 59, just three weeks away from her 60th birthday.

 

Lisa was born in Rochester, Minnesota on September 24th, 1960. She worked for the local cable company and was promoted many times in the cable industry which led to her living in Portland, Oregon for a brief time and then settling in Denver, Colorado.

 

Lisa loved her family. She loved to garden and had an amazing green thumb.  She loved the ocean and being in a boat on the water. All that knew her, knew her intelligence matched her beauty.  Lisa loved to dance and was the life of a party.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and especially her children.

 

Our family would like to thank Tom Reppert who was a best friend to Lisa for 23 years. The two of them were able to enjoy many special times together. He was always there to lend her a hand when she needed it. 

 

Lisa is survived by her father, Charles Vonwald; her brothers Bill VonWald, Steve VonWald; her sisters Judy DeLuque and Rita VonWald; her children, David Sweeney, Alissa Sweeney, and  Brianna Nicholson. She is predeceased by her mother Betty VonWald and brother Chuck VonWald.

 

The memorial service will be held September 26th at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church, 100 Colorado Blvd, Idaho Springs, CO 80452. To send flowers for the service please have them sent to 1651 S. Dale Ct, Denver, Colorado 80219 by Friday September 25th. A donation in her honor can be made to the American Heart Assoc 1280 South Parker Road Denver, CO or the American Cancer Society.
