I write this with great sadness over the loss of a close friend to cancer.
Lidoro fought a brave and strong battle but the cancer would not allow him to get better. He took each day in stride, never really complaining, always feeling tired and always hoping that the treatments would finally end so he could get on with his life. This was my hope too.
My friend was a true friend, loving and real. Lidoro was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, loving his family was always seen in his smile when discussing them. He loved vacations with his family and looked forward to each one. Lastly, his magnetic smile will be missed by all who knew him.
His wonderful spirit will live on through his children and grandchildren, and they will always know how much he loved them. Lidoro tried with all his heart to stay for them, but God called him, and he had to go.
During my friend’s illness, I know that there were two things that kept him going, his family and hope, otherwise to face another day would have been tough. I know how many days he must have had like that.
Now my hope is that Lidoro rests in peace, knowing, he did all that he could and that his family will be fine. When we love people it’s so comforting to know that they will always be with us in our hearts.
I’ll see you again, my friend,
Chuck Davis

they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard,
but always near,
so loved, so missed,
so very dear."

Lidoro was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met, and I feel deeply privileged to have known him. His gentle and giving spirit were an inspiration to me. Recalling my many encounters with him, one of my strongest memories is how he unwaveringly showed such genuine interest in the lives and well-being of others. Always. He lives on in my heart. Thank you, Lidoro. I am blessed to have known you.
