"The joy of the Lord is my strength"
Our uncle Gary had so much joy! He was so full of life and I don't think he had a single regret. How many can say that? This tribute is right on point. I remember several trips to Georgia where he graced us with his presence. We went to a Braves vs Rockies game where he made sure all surrounding spectators knew I was his favorite girlfriend.
This is a picture mom took of all of us in his camper not too long ago.
We miss you down here but heaven has a much better veiw of Jesus.
"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."
All our love- Jonathan and Leah Colvin

Gary - You were always a man with the biggest heart that I have ever known, and always full of happiness. I was your favorite "bro in law", no matter how many you had. I will always remember our great camping trips. Some that come to mind are the Peach Festival in Colorado wine country and the good times at Yogi Bear and other Estes RV parks, enjoying great food and often times, fireworks. Whenever we went fishing, you always skunked me! There are wonderful memories of so many campfires filled with laughter and a little "Red Ass Rhubarb" wine. Then there were the family reunions, where Judi & I wore "I just married into this family" pins. I still laugh about our Las Vegas trip on St. Patrick's Day. We took in a lot of shows, people watched, had great food and yes, you and I were always "losers." Will always love the pic of you and I with the "well endowed" lady in downtown Vegas. And in our younger days, our night time escapades looking for onions and for hubcaps for your trailer. I am so glad to have these mrmories which I will cherish forever. You are my favorite "bro in law". RIP -- Happy trails until we meet again.

There are so many memories we shared with one another, the camping trips, the time we went to the Black Hills. So many I can't remember all of them. One that sticks out in my mind the most is the time we came home from fishing with a great big snapping turtle. We wondered what would happen if we put a m80 in his mouth & let him bite down on it.. I remember we had to clean the side of the garage off after our little escapade. I love you Gary & look forward to seeing you again in heaven!

My earliest memories of my cousin Gary go back to the old days in Longmont. It was always a highlight for me to go visit Uncle Gene and Aunt Pete and Debbie and Gary. Jan and I were trying to remember if we ever saw Gary as anything but happy, friendly, cutting up, never overly serious, and we couldn't think of a single time, ever. I'm sure there were times, he was human, but probably few and far between. I had the distinct pleasure, (not sure "pleasure" is the right term), of being a personal deer hunting guide for Gary and his buddies from Rocky Flats for several years. I only saw him shoot one time, and it was a good shot, but of course there was quite a story behind that one. There were many memories made in those days, for he and I both. Those were good times, good times. During my childhood in CO, Gary and his family often came up to Basalt to visit for a couple days at a time and I always looked forward to it. And since my family has been in GA, he has always called to make sure we're o.k. if there was a tornado, flood, hurricane, anything, and he was sincere. He never talked long, but he kept tabs on me. I'm pretty sure I was his favorite cousin. Almost positive. His sense of humor was unlike any I've ever encountered, except maybe his dad's.
It was a shock to get the news, especially after all the losses this family has endured over the past 12 months. As Deb said, Gary was taken too soon. He will be sorely missed by many, not the least of which is me. For those of you closest to him, cherish the memories of him you posses. If I knew him at all, I know he had to have left you with more than you can recount. He cared for you more than you know and Judi, his children and grandchildren were the loves of his life. How very fortunate we all are to have had him for the time we did. Our lives are enriched because of him.

We miss you so much Gary. You were the most kind and caring brother. Every week after Doug ‘s infusion, you would call to make sure he was ok. You cared deeply for our family, and could always make us laugh. What fond memories of camping over the years, particularly our traditional first night dinners (including the wine)! Then there was our annual Christmas Eve soup dinner get together that included oyster stew and a martini to toast dad. We only wish there was more time to make new memories... you were taken too soon. We miss you more than words.... Love you Gary ❤️❤️❤️

Gary welcomed me into this family with open arms. There isn’t a single memory I have of him that doesn’t involve me laughing. He had so much love to give and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to receive it.
