Obituary of William Walter Schuster
Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 21, 1929, William (Bill) Schuster Jr. rounded 3rd on his way to his heavenly home on November 11, 2020. He left behind his beloved wife of 69 years, Barbara. He is survived by his brother John, his sons William III (Carol) and Craig (Bobbi), Grandchildren: Jennifer, Todd, Brent, Andrew and Hannah, and five great grandchildren. His daughter Gwen Mahnken preceded him in passing. Bill had a great career with United Airlines for nearly 40 years. Bill and Barbara took many trips on “his passes” that produced many fond memories. He was a craftsman, spending a lot of time in his wood shop making things for family members and others. He was an avid softball player and bowler, participating in both sports well into his 80s. He was a mean Bridge and Cribbage player with a great mind for cards. Also, a quiet man with a great sense of humor. He once quipped while attending a baseball game on Easter “the Rockies may have lost but Christ has Risen!” He showed his devotion to his faith by being a long time, regular attending member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and ushering on many Sundays along the way. A friend to many, a blessing to his family, he will be missed.
