Faith, prayer, reading her bible daily, watching soaps, watching the Denver Broncos football, Denver Nuggets basketball, MMA, boxing, Word Search puzzles, and when she was able to, fishing, sewing clothes for granddaughters, gambling. The best was being around family and friends. These are just a few things that my mother enjoyed and that made her smile. Over the 22 years that I lived with her, we had many deep conversations. She shared with me, her deepest thoughts, her fears and her past experiences. We had more than a mother/daughter relationship and for that I will always be grateful that I was there for her. I realized it when I was younger and that bond we shared would only get stronger as I grew up. I will miss my mother deeply, but my only solace is that she is not hurting and is at peace with the Lord. Thank you for being around her, for visiting, for calling her, for sharing with her and for making her smile. She loved all that knew her.

Every parent knows that children look at their grandparents as sources of wisdom and courage. This couldn't be more true for Elizabeth. Such an amazingly strong woman who will live on through our shared memories for generations to come. I will be forever grateful to have known her and been loved her. "Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace – Amen"

The last time I saw Grandma was the morning of the day before she passed. I got to her room and met Uncle Conrad, who stood and said, "Hey Dan." then before I could correct him said "Jerry. I'm sorry about that." We had small conversation about that until I got to Grandma, who was sleeping. I picked up her hand and she woke up. I said hi, then asked her if she knew who I was. Grandma said in her slurred and labored voice, "Jerry. I love you."
I love you Grandma!
