Florence Burch

Obituary of Florence Marie Burch

A Legacy of Love

On November 19, 2021, Florence Marie Burch went from love to love – from her loving home surrounded by family into the loving presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Larkspur is where Florence met Lester Burch and their 68-year marriage forged a team that reared Ronald, Janet, Nancy, Danette, Michelle, Michael, and Daniel. They also took in numerous foster children over the years and babysat many children.

Born in Denver on December 26, 1932, Florence Marie Murr was the youngest of four children and lived in and loved Colorado all her life. She enjoyed camping and made countless trips to various areas of Colorado to bathe in nature’s beauty and use her creative outdoor skills. If you joined Florence and Lester on a camping trip and forget something, they were always prepared with spare supplies to meet any need.

Always a diligent worker, over the years Florence worked as a cook, bus driver, and worked in local politics. Her six years as mayor of Larkspur was full of accomplishment, and she still had impact on the town she loved as a town council member. The inception and completion of the local park can be attributed to the efforts of both Florence and Lester.

The poet Maya Angelou said, “If you’re going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that cannot be erased.” The legacy of Florence Burch will not be erased as it lives on through her seven children, her 25 grandchildren, her 19 great-grandchildren, and her one great-great granddaughter
