Obituary of Laurie Jean Sponsel-Majewski

Laurie Jean Sponsel-Majewski passed from this world and joined God in Heaven on January 3rd, 2022. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Laurie was born to parents Donna and Mike Sponsel on February 14th, 1962 in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in North Denver and attended Denver North High School. She married and became a loving mother at an early age and moved to Minot, North Dakota to be a supportive military wife. 

 

Laurie loved God, her family, and art, often using nature as her medium. She adored bright colors and enjoyed using them in her artwork. She also loved to make gifts for people and many of us proudly display her work in our homes. She was an avid lover of rocks and saw beauty in things that most people take for granted. Laurie was witty and funny, she loved telling jokes, telling stories, and making people smile.  

 

She leaves behind her children; Timothy Daniels and wife Liane, Cheryl Rittierodt and husband Chris, and Joseph Majewski. Her grandchildren; Mishale, Andrew, Matthew, Brianna, Kaitlin, Dillan, Sean, Arianna, and also seven great-grandchildren. Her eight siblings; Diann Kerber and Charles, Michael Sponsel and Wanda, Robert Sponsel, Linda Martin and Michael, Cheri Joha and Werner, Cindi Stewart and Rick, Larry Sponsel and Christina, and David Sponsel and Christina. Also included is a large and loving extended family. She is preceded in death by both of her parents Mike and Donna Sponsel, her beloved husband Robert “Bobby” Majewski whom she adored, a child she never got to hold, and a number of extended family members.
