Rhiannon was born in Payson, AZ in 1976. She moved to Denver, CO with her family in 1986 and shortly after took a journey to Kenya where the family lived as missionaries from 1989-1991. She fell in love with the country and the people. Upon returning to the Denver area, she attended Shaw Heights Middle School, continuing on to Westminster High School where she excelled in sports and was named one of the top 5 defensive players on her basketball team. Later, she obtained a Dental Assistant Certificate from Pima Medical Institute.

Rhiannon loved the outdoors and had both grandfathers’ green thumbs, giving life to amazing plants and flowers. She cherished and loved her family very much and was especially proud of her siblings, niece, nephews and Jeremy. She was an animal Mom who loved and spoiled her many dogs & fish. She loved good food – the spicier, the better and more recently was known for celebrating most occasions with no less than 2 cakes and multiple main courses.

She was a reflection of God’s glory, chosen, forgiven, redeemed, a child of God, a sister in Christ, believer of miracles, worshipper, lover of God, a threat to the enemy, prayer warrior, sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the heavenly realm, minister of the gospel who shared her faith wherever she went. She saw life and God’s creation as awesome, wonderful and amazing. She undoubtedly knew who she was in Christ.

She saw beauty in simple things and was known for her smile and generous, caring ways. She was sensitive to people’s needs and their pain and had a heart to reach out. She loved blessing others. She was encouraging, inspiring, strong, smart, determined, tenacious, vibrant, a delight, an overcomer, and had a fight and a fire to press in, Her beauty radiated inside and out. Rhiannon fought the good fight. She ran her race and finished it well. Rhiannon has touched our hearts forever.

Rhiannon loved the time we spent in Kenya and the children there, but never had a chance to return. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hearts for the World International. Your gift will support children in the place she loved. Hearts for the World International: http://www.hearts4twi.org/contreras
