Obituary of Michelle Therese Fanganello

 Michelle "Shelly" Therese Fanganello

May 24, 1969 - February 24, 2022

Michelle passed away on February 24th at 52 years of age. She was blessed with a big personality that was infectious to all that met her from the time she was brought home by Leonard and Corinne Fanganello in Denver, Colorado. She grew up primarily in the Park Hill neighborhood and attended Phillips Elementary, Smiley Junior High and Manual High School. She played tennis and soccer, loved dancing and performing on stage. She loved all different types of music, and, even though she knew she couldn't carry a tune, it never stopped her from trying!

Michelle married Rustem Mesutoglu in 1990 and had two children, Nanda and Fuat. She traveled to Italy and Turkey to visit family and lived in Italy for a time. After divorcing Rustem, Michelle returned to Denver but traveled to Italy to visit her children. Michelle was always into fashion and loved wearing colorful outfits, sparkly belts, and a few rhinestones to boot. She was the oldest of three sisters and definitely knew how to bring the fun to our sister and family gatherings--or any social event for that matter. While many knew her as "Shelly" growing up, she will always be Michelle (my belle) to her family.

Michelle is preceded in death by her mother, Corinne Fanganello, and brother-in-law, Desmond Ross. She is survived by her daughter Nanda Mesutoglu (31) and son Fuat Mesutoglu (22) of Milan, Italy; her father, Leonard Fanganello, step-mother, Marty Fanganello; her sisters, Crissy (Stuart), and Rebecca; step sisters Larissa (Jaime) and Sabrina (John); nieces, Dominica, Imani, Siena, and Laurel, and nephews, Dez Jr, Nassir, and Isaiah. Michelle had many cousins, aunts and uncles that loved her very much. And, of course, an extended family of her many, many friends.
