Billie Gross

Obituary of Billie Gene Gross

Billie Gene Gross passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022 after suffering from Alzheimer’s Dementia.  Bill was born February 20th, 1936 to Vern Gross and Alzina Giyer. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Monique and his three children Debbie (Russ) Nichols, Carey Gross, Beatrice (Brad) Price and his grandchildren, Nicole (Jay) Graham, Josh Nichols, Caleb Gross, Emily (Royal) Gill, Indalesia Velasquez, Charlotte Price, Graham Price and greatgrandchildren, Connor, Ellia, Rhemi and Joseph.

Bill grew up in Minneola, Kansas with four brothers and two sisters, all of whom have passed before him.  His work was mostly entrepreneurial in nature, owning a tire store and other small businesses before he retired.

Bill was known for his generosity and kindness, and his love of children.  He was always willing to help anyone who needed help and was a friendly and respectful human being.  If you were on the other side of one of his lectures, you knew that what he was going to tell you would be valuable and sincere.  He tackled problems head on and let you know how he felt.

Bill served his country at the young age of 18, joining the United States Airforce.  It was while he was stationed in Phalsbourg, France that he met his bride-to-be, Monique Hommes.  He said that he knew when he first saw her that she would become his wife and would often express how grateful he was to have her with him.  They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on March 23rd.

Anyone who knew Bill knew that he was the most loving and supportive father and husband a family could ask for.  He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held Saturday, March 26th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the City of Wheat Ridge’s Prospect Hall: 6363 W 35th Ave., Wheatridge, CO.
