Obituary of Filomena Josey

Filomena Josey 1931-2022

 

Our beloved mother, Filomena (Phyllis) Cairone Josey passed away on April 2^nd, 2022 at the age of 90.  Born in Providence, RI, she came from a large Italian family and is survived by her brother, Louis Cairone and sister Delores Rossi.  In 1954 she married Glenn Josey, and they remained married until his passing in October 2021.  The couple had three children, Glenn, Susan, and Kathy.  She is survived by her two daughters and grandchildren, Megan and Daniel Josey.  Her son Glenn preceded her in death.  Mom received an Associate's Degree in Political Science from El Camino Community College at age 62.  She loved people, travel, politics, and especially high tea.  Mom was a very loving and generous person.  Many called her Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and friend.  In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to one of her favorite charities The ASPCA, World Wildlife Fund, or the Denver Rescue Mission.  A memorial service and celebration of life is planned for 5/14/22 and details will be posted on this site when finalized.
