Obituary of Virginia Lee Vincent Sewall

Virginia Lee Vincent Sewall November 26, 1928 Denver, Colorado to May 21, 2022 Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Virginia “Ginny” was born to Nella Eleatha Spain Vincent and Howard Vincent in Denver, Colorado on November 26, 1928.

She attended Wheat Ridge High School and the University of Denver, where she earned both her bachelors and masters degrees in elementary education.

Virginia was employed by the Denver Public Schools for her entire career, where she worked as a teacher, as well as teacher assistant to the principal.

Virginia married the true love of her life, Joseph Sewall, in 1970. When they weren’t teaching, they often indulged in their avocation –playing duplicate bridge, enjoying the company of friends and family, reading novels aloud to each other, and traveling just a bit.

After retirement, she volunteered for several years at the Jefferson County School in which Joe was a teacher. Approaching their 52nd anniversary, they were a fantastic example of a caring and devoted marriage. She deeply loved her Joe.

Virginia believed in the betterment of oneself, and she inspired many young people to pursue higher education. She was a great encouragement to her family. Virginia loved getting out and about and meeting new people. She always had a very generous heart and helped many people along the way. She loved to laugh, had a fierce spirit, liked debating her opinion, and lived life to the fullest. She deserved a better end than suffering with Alzheimer’s disease for the last few years.

She is predeceased by her parents and her brother William “Bill” Vincent. She is survived by her husband, Joe Sewall, her nephews John (Debbie), Lon (Karen) and Tom Vincent, and nieces Jill Vincent Bruse (LeeRoy) and Jenny Vincent Davidson (Ron), as well as 6 great-nieces and nephews.
