Obituary of Theo Howell Mees Jr

Theo Howell “Bud” Mees, Jr. passed away at his home in Denver, Colorado on July 26th, 2022 after a brave battle with cancer. He was 77 years old. Bud was predeceased by his parents, Theo Howell Mees, Sr. and Rubye Ledford Mees.  He is survived by his sons Eric and Brian, his daughter Valerie, his sisters Susan and Patsy, his many nieces and nephews, and his grandchildren. 

A graduate of Metro State College of Denver and the University of Denver, Bud worked professionally in a wide range of fields from accounting to human resources. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, storytelling, music, playing guitar, the Rockies, tutoring, woodworking, sudoku puzzles, and was an avid reader.  

The family and Bud extend their thanks and appreciation to the Carillon Assisted Living Community - his home for the last nine months - for the friendships and outstanding support they gave him.  The same gratitude is extended to his hospice and caretaker team for the respect, care, and comfort they provided for Bud. 

A gathering to celebrate Bud’s life will be held at a future date, location TBD. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Food Bank of the Rockies.
