Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Stinton

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Cirbo) Stinton, beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, and sister, went to meet her Heavenly Father on June 22, 2022. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving children. Betty fought a short but courageous battle with MDS and leukemia. Betty is predeceased by her father Thomas Cirbo Sr., mother Frances Cirbo, and brother Anthony Cirbo. She is survived by her daughter, Toni, and her daughters Sloane and Wren; son Doug and his wife, Autumn; daughter Karen and her husband, David, and their daughter Amelia; her siblings Thomas Cirbo, Jr (Barbara), Larry Cirbo (Kathleen), Leo Cirbo, and Teri Cirbo Rogers (Darrell).

Betty was born in Colorado Springs, raised near Simla, and spent the majority of her life in Colorado. Betty cherished her years at college and graduate school at Western State College in Gunnison, CO, where she earned an M.A. in Education. Betty met Lyle Stinton at summer school at Western State. They married and Betty moved to Iowa where Lyle was a teacher and she continued to work as a school counselor.

Betty returned to her beloved Colorado in 1986 to start her own private therapy practice and teaching personal relationship classes. Betty loved helping people, and made a career of serving others—as a school counselor, psychotherapist, relationship counselor, and a financial planner later in life specializing in assisting older adults. She was gifted at helping others through tough times and empowering them to be their best.

Betty loved music, country dancing, and tennis. She had a joyful heart and signed emails with "May you always have joy in your heart and a spring in your step." She loved people, enjoyed connecting people, and although not a drinker she revelled in a good happy hour crowd--especially if there was a Texas Two Step involved! Betty took great joy in her children, and most recently being BiBi to her granddaughters. She could always be counted on for support and unconditional love. She will be missed by many, but by none more than her children.
