Jane was the oldest of 6 consecutive girls in our family. We shared many, many happy times together, especially as we got older. The Six Sisters Celebrating Sixtieth Birthdays became the basis for a large memory book that expanded to Six Sisters Celebrating Seventieth Birthdays when Jane turned 70, just shy of 10 yrs. ago. My personal memories of Jane are filled with her pioneering spirit. Jane introduced me to flying in 1963, shortly after she joined United Airlines in Omaha, Neb. I flew all the way from Sioux City, Iowa to Omaha! Wow! The BIG CITY! Jane had her own tiny apt. on the top floor of an old home, the first of many tiny cars, (a baby blue VW bug), & exposed me to many "firsts". She flew me to CO for my first ever downhill ski day in the mtns, my first cross country ski experience, my first exposure to a young woman buying her own home & remodeling it. Jane had friends with many different interests & talents. This reflected her love of learning, her own personal growth, & her compassion for others. Throughout her life Jane showed me that she was willing to take chances, whether on skis or in one of her convertables racing through Denver traffic. I always knew that Jane was a rare, very special member of Six Sisters Celebrating, and I also know that Jane will be remembered by many for the goodness in her heart. Peg (sister #4)
