Obituary of Mary Sue Kelly

Mary “Mickey” Sue (Corless) Kelly

Mickey Kelly, 90, passed away on December 5, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on July 13, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to J. Leonard and Gertrude (Crean) Corless.

She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City and attended Mount St. Scholastica College in Atchison, Kansas.

She married the love of her life, Harold Kelly, on November 28, 1953 and together they moved around the country with their growing family while starting 2 successful businesses. Mickey was a very dedicated and active member of the Catholic Church, sharing her wonderful singing voice, sense of humor, and willingness to offer help to anyone who needed it.

She was also a world traveler, having visited 5 continents (including Antarctica), but her favorite place by far was Ireland. She will be forever missed by those she left behind, although we take comfort in our faith that she has finally been reunited with the loved ones who passed before her.

Mickey was predeceased by her husband Harold, daughter Kerry Hill, brother Jim, and her parents.

She is survived by her sister JoAnn Corless, loving children H. Stephen, Martin (Gay Lynn), Patrick (Chris), Molly (Charlie) Lama, Mary (David) Mets, and Sarah. In addition, Mickey leaves 13 beloved grandchildren – Kelly Hill, Meghan (Jake) Marzolf, Joseph (Rachel) Hill, Bridget (Joe Blinn) Hill, Julienne (Matt) McConnell, Keenan (Jordan) Kelly, Cameron (Celeste) Kelly, Erin (Cole) Doherty, Matthew Kelly, Jonathan Kelly, Casey (Bri) Mets, Catie (Brynnan) Hyland, Ryan (Lauren) Mets – and 3 great-granddaughters, Rosemary Jane Hill, Sage Ann Hill, and Carter Kelly Mets.
