Obituary of Carrol Ann Grant

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carrol Ann Grant, our loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2023 with her family by her side. She was in her 83rd year of a beautiful life. Born in Hayden, Colorado, on August 13, 1939 Carrol always found a way to keep the biggest smile on her face and love in her heart.

Carrol was a beloved wife and best friend to her one and only love of 63 years, Irwin. They married in 1960 after only dating for a few weeks, Irwin knew she was “the one”. A True definition of love at first sight and soulmates. In 1963 and 1964 respectively, they welcomed their two beautiful daughters Deborah (Ray) and Denise (David) who were the most important part of her life. She loved the beauty of life, and everything within it. A doting grandmother to Danielle (Nathaniel, Jaxson & Kinlsey), Brian (Kayla), Nicholas (Rachel) and Nash (Venessa). Carrol is survived by her brother Larry Stukey (Dorothy) and his three children Clark (Heather, Kiera & Taylor), Karla (Kenny, Tavia & Solana) and Roger (Jennifer & Maci). She is preceded in death by her parents.

Carrol lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, mentor and dedicated friend. She loved water skiing, golf, gardening and sewing. She was highly skilled in the kitchen. She loved to cook and bake for her family, tend to her garden and watch TV with her husband. Carrol lived in the kitchen and was forever cooking up a storm for her infamous family gatherings. She was known for her fried chicken, mash potatoes & gravy, homemade cinnamon rolls, rolls, biscuits and gravy, cheesecake, zebra pudding, apple pie, pecan pie, peanut brittle, peanut butter fudge, “protein” cookies, and truffles just to name a few favorites. Loving being a great grandmother of Jaxson & Kinsley. She was the greatest supporter of all events for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed golfing with her golf ladies and Irwin, watching the Broncos religiously every week, as well as water skiing with her family at Windsor Shores in Northern Colorado. Most of all she loved her family and friends and instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well throughout their own lives. Carrol had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She could always be found with a smile on her face and a chuckle in her tone. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11-3 p.m. on January 29th at the Cedar Bridge Club House in Westminster. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please consider a donation to AASLD Foundation (aasidfoundation.org). This is a foundation whose goal is to win the battle with liver disease, which ultimately is what deteriorated Carrol’s body in the end.
