Obituary of Elizabeth S. Kelchner PhD

Elizabeth S. Kelchner passed away on January 2nd, 2023 at Aspen Siesta Nursing Home from complications from Covid and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Elizabeth previously lived with her husband, Russell Kelchner, at 1265 S. York St, Denver. Elizabeth was born 7/7/50 in New York City to Max A. Schwartz and Barbara O. Ballou.

Elizabeth earned a MSW from Adelphi University and a PhD in social work from the University of Denver. She was the recipient of the 2010 University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work Community Service Award. Her teaching experience included Syracuse University, S.U.N.Y. at Binghamton and the University of Denver.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Schwartz of Santa Rosa, California.

She is survived by her husband Russell of Denver; son, Peter Perez and wife Abigail Leonard of Aurora, Colorado; son, John Perez and wife Diane of Lakewood, Colorado; sister ,Deborah Schwartz and husband Steve Smith of Groton, NY; niece, Jessica Bartholomew and nephew, Aaron Smith; and her life long best friend Kerry Bryan of Philadelphia, PA.

The family will always be grateful for the care and compassion provided by Aspen Siesta Nursing Home.
