Obituary of William Paul Trinen

William Paul Trinen, May 9, 1963 ~ January 21, 2023

William Paul Trinen passed away on Saturday, January 21st, 2023.  Bill was challenged by a 57-day battle with AML Leukemia. He was 59.

Bill was born on May 9 near Mount Prospect, Illinois, and moved to Denver when he was three years old. He attended Cherry Creek Schools and South High school where he was Senior Class President and went on to graduate with an Economics degree from CU Boulder in 1986. He delivered newspapers and flowers while in school, and went on to sell copiers in Southern California.  However, his love for Colorado lured him back and he landed in the commercial real estate industry, inspired by his brother Bob.  His career began at Grubb and Ellis, transitioning to Cushman Realty and Fuller Real Estate. Bill had the tenacity and passion for the industry and in 2011 founded his own successful company, Trinen Realty Partners.  Bill was considered a “finder”, making 10 calls a day, pounding the pavement, and brokering millions of square feet of real estate with many notable transactions.  

In 2008 he survived a courageous 6-year battle with cancer. He and his wife  took on the next 15 years with a new appreciation, raising their twins with the intent of living life to the fullest. 

Bill was exemplary as a survivor. He was scuba certified, but spent his time playing the guitar that he learned as a child. He worked countless hours on his pilot license and played pick-up tennis at Wash Park. He loved golfing, fly fishing, skiing, biking, and motorcycling, and enjoyed traveling with his family in their RV. Mostly, he taught his children the love of music, nature, hard work, curiousity, and to enjoy life with laughter, spontaneity, and to always wear a seatbelt. 

Bill is proceeded in death by his father Donald Trinen, Mother Anna Marie Trinen, Brother Mike Trinen and Sister Jean Marie Trinen. He is survived by his wife Maya, children Jackson and Shyla, brothers Donald and Robert  Trinen, Stepmother and Father Barb and Warren Simmons, 9 wonderful nieces and his best puppy Nala. 

A celebration of life in honor of Bill Trinen will be held for family and friends on Sunday, February 12 at 11:30 am at Space Gallery, 400 Santa Fe Drive Denver.
