Obituary of Angelina Gonzales Padilla

Angelina Gonzales Padilla

June 5, 1934 –  January 27, 2023

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our mother, Angelina Gonzales Padilla.

Angelina was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Bernabe Gonzales and Tomasita Sena Gonzales on June 5, 1934 and passed away peacefully in her home in Aurora, Colorado on January 27, 2023 at the age of 88.

Angelina Gonzales married Crecencio Rafael Padilla on November 5, 1951; they went on to have and raise five children, Dan, Angela, Gloria, Chris Jr, and Ramona.

Mom spent her life taking care of her entire family, keeping a beautiful home; she would cook, clean, sew, and bake, remembering to put the love in all the details of her homemaking. One favorite memory was of her making fresh tortillas each day steaming up the kitchen windows in the winter with her cooking and singing aloud to Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline on the radio.

Mom was a force to be reckoned with, she prided herself on always putting family first (a Matriarch), she worked hard to keep peace and love within our family.

Momma also loved to style her beautiful hair, dress to the nines, always showing great class; she loved to play the guitar, sing aloud, and dance.
