Mary Jane Brown

March 7th, 1926 – February 11th, 2023

Mary Jane Brown, age 96 passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023. Mary Jane, daughter of Frank and Anna Terry was born on March 7, 1926 in Meadow Grove, Nebraska and was the 11th child of 15. Mary Jane moved to Broomfield, CO in 1960 and had 4 children: Sheryl Houska, Gary Jablonski, Bryan Brown and Jane Jablonski-Elliott. Mary Jane was preceded in death by son, Gary Jablonski, daughter, Jane Jablonski-Elliott and 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter, Sheryl Houska and husband Jeff, son, Bryan Brown and wife Viola, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mary Jane was sincerely a sweet, gentle, kindhearted soul who always showed compassion towards others and was truly grateful for the simplest of pleasures. She loved her family dearly. During her incredible 96 years and 11 months of life, MaryJane was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She was also a beloved gramma and especially loved and embraced every moment with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family with all her heart and cherished the family reunions and visiting with everyone. Mary Jane was proud that she attended ALL family reunions (except for in 2022). She just loved talking to people and made friends everywhere she went. She loved traveling by train to visit relatives. MaryJane loved to eat. Boy did she love to eat, she was always hungry and ready to eat. She was an excellent cook and amazing baker! Her apple pies were the best! She loved to garden, watch sports (Go Huskers!), dance and did I mention eat? She would take the bus to dance at the senior rec centers twice a week and would go to McDonalds to meet with her friends on Fridays. She made beautiful memories with all her family and friends, and her smile, joy and bright spirit will be incredibly missed by so many.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary Jane on February 23 (Thursday) at 1pm at Harvest Christian Community, 7125 West 44th Ave. Wheatridge CO 80034. The church will be receiving deliveries on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, Mary Jane would have loved donations be made in her name to: Harvest Christian Community (at address above).
