Obituary of Marie Julia Gossman

Marie Julia Gossman 

 

 

Marie Julia Gudinas Gossman, age 93, died of natural causes related to dementia on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Brookdale Meridian Senior Living Center in Englewood, Colorado.  Marie was born on September 5, 1929 to William Henry and Louisa Julia (Guenther) Gudinas.  She was educated in Palmyra and Rochester NY and graduated from Nazareth Academy.  After a brief employment at Eastman Kodak, she met and married James Leo Gossman on October 19, 1957 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Together they had four daughters – Martha Mary, Anne Margaret, Ruth Catherine and Karla Frances.  They moved to Greeley CO in October, 1969.

 

Marie spent much of her adult life volunteering at various service agencies in both Rochester and Greeley.  She also attended courses at Aims Community College and the Denver Catholic Biblical School. She was involved with various activities at Saint Mary Catholic Church and served eight years on the Elderhostel Advisory Board at the University of Northern Colorado.

 

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Ruth Gudinas, and two daughters, Anne (Darryl) Deppe, and Karla (Don Wright) Gossman.  She is survived by her daughters Martha (Mike) Stroman of Highlands Ranch CO, Ruth (Jamie Mannon) Gossman of Pangburn AR, grand children Tim (Sara) Stroman, Audrey Deppe, Laura (Mario) Steffanina, and great-grandsons Callan Stroman, Giuseppe and Elio Steffanina,

 

There will be no public services. Suggested Memorials are St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and United Way of Weld County both located in Greeley CO.
