Obituary of Alfred John Martinez

March 8, 1964 – February 19, 2023

Alfred John Martinez passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Al is survived by his wife Kim Dalla and children Tiffany, Justin, Chelbie Baysinger (Levi) Darian, Jonah and Jayden. Grandchildren Mia, Vincent, Lillian, Roman Baysinger. Cameron and Stella Warwas, Knova and Xiala Martinez. Brothers and sisters Virgie, Barbarito (Christie), Dee Lopez-Zapata (T), Isabel Rojas (Anthony) and Mike (Lonnie). And numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Al was tragically taken from us too soon but the love we have for him and the love he had for us will live in each of us forever.

Al was one of the funniest people you could know. His sense of humor was contagious. Everyone soon learned his famous catch phrases after knowing him just a short time.

Everyone loved Al, he would never let a friend down, he would give a stranger the shirt off his back. When others would turn and look away at someone in need, Al was the first to offer assistance. Al took his responsibility to his family very seriously. He was a hard-working man, he would be the first person called in to work if needed as well as the first to offer to go in to work. You could count on him, if he said he would do something he would do it.

Al also loved being a biker even if we called it biker adjacent. He loved the brotherhood of belonging to a club. He would be involved in every charity event; his favorite was passing out gifts to the children in Globeville every Christmas.

Al was the happiest when surrounded by family. He would do and did do anything for his children. His love for his family was immeasurable. He lived and worked for family.

Everyone saw something different in Al whether it be his sense of humor, his loyalty or his generosity. This was because Al had a way of knowing what people needed at the time and he gave it to them.

Al was full of personality, full of life. When Al walked into a room he was noticed. His infectious laugh, his sly smile, and plenty of dad jokes, the cornier the better would soon be the center of attention. He could rough house with the boys as easily as sit patiently while his granddaughter painted his nails.

Al knew what he wanted and he worked hard to get whatever he had and he expected the same from others, he was an honorable man. His appearance at times may suggest something different but Al was a kind gentle person that cared deeply about friends and family. Al had many acquaintances but few that were lucky enough to be called a friend. He treats his friends as brothers, his club members as brothers.

After experiencing a devastating year Al wanted to spend more time with family, he wanted to forgive and forget past discretions. He had a renewed outlook and respect for time spent with loved ones.

This is a great loss to many people. There are no perfect words to describe a life taken too soon. He was my love, my rock, my future. His love for me will forever be held in my heart. His love for his children will give them a life filled with love forever.
