Obituary of Glenn Arthur Hearne

Born in Grayson, KY on November 9, 1938, Glenn Hearne was the youngest of seven children of James and Ethel Hearne.  He was the last living of the siblings, Edward, Arval, Davis, Carl, Ruth and Viola.  He married his high school sweetheart Joan Kinzbach in 1962 and they were married until her passing in 2010. He is survived by their son Douglas Hearne and his daughter Taryn; and daughter Amy O'Connor and her husband Sean and children, Kyle and Kayla.  He is also survived by Joan's sister Suzette Kinzbach, nieces and nephews and numerous loving friends.  

He was educated at University of Colorado and became a high school math teacher.  Later he attended the University of California, Davis where he received a Master's degree in Ecology.  He worked for the United States Geological Survey as a hydrologist until his retirement.

Both he and Joan were active in Bear Valley Church and he initiated the bible study at Brookdale.

He was a talented gardener, raising and canning a variety of vegetables, and wood worker.  He enjoyed animals, travel and a highlight was taking an Alaskan Cruise with Joan.

He will be dearly missed. A text from a dear friend sums him up; he was always wiser and calmer (and funnier) than everyone else.
